Mascara Monday: Lancome Virtuous Mascara

Hi my dear readers!
I sincerely apologize for the MIA lately, but I have been sick for the longest time now I have to deal with final exams.
But I promise there will be more posts!

Today's I am reviewing a high end mascara from Lancome.
And it is called Virtous Macara.
I got a deluxe sample sized one from a Lancome travel case.

You can purchase the full size one for $27.

The product claims to deliver "voluptuous curves, luscious length and captivating volume".
The brush tip is curved, so it is easier to coat and curve each strand of lashes.

Compared to Maybelline the Falsies, it has a shorter and more curled wand.

Ratings:
  • Formula & Application: 9/10
The formula is rather dry. It felt perfect when I first used it. However, I have only had this tube for two weeks and it is already starting to get too dry to apply. Considering this is only a deluxe sample size, I assume that the actual tube could last a little longer.

Application is nice. The formula glides onto the lashes and separates s them very well. And the wand makes it super easy to pull out outer lashes. Again, after two weeks, I feel the application gets harder since the formula dry out very quickly.

  • Lengthening: 7/10
It gives very natural lengthening effect and it separates well. The effect is not the most obvious though.  And after two to three coats, my lashes are still separated.

  •  Volumizing: 7/10
Again, it has a moderate effect in terms of volumizing. For this mascara, there is nothing too dramatic, it just make my lashes look very natural.

  • Holds Curl: 7/10
Surprisingly, this mascara does not hold curls very well for me, even though the wand is so curved.  It does not make my lashes droopy, but rather horizontal.

  • Staying Power: 9/10
It starts to smudge a tiny bit after 6 hours on me. No flaking what so ever. I think for a non-waterproof mascara, Lancome Virtuous holds up pretty well.

  • Easiness to remove: 10/10
Since it is not waterproof, it is very easy to remove. Regular makeup removers or just warm water and face wash could do the job.

Overall:  8/10
This mascara enhances the lashes in a very natural way. It does a little bit of everything, but nothing stands out too much for me. For $27, I personally do not think the value is very high. One good thing about it is that the formula is gentle and it does not irritate my very sensitive eyes.

But again, if you have naturally long and curly lashes, it will work wonderfully on you for sure!

Yes for people with sensitive eyes or someone looking for natural looking lashes.
No for monoliders who want a non-waterproof but still curling mascara.

Before & After:
I forgot to take a photo after applying eyeshadow and before mascara...So the first photo is my bare eyes lol. Bear with me guys. =P

Alright onto the business, as you can see it looks super natural, and not curling.
