Mascara Monday: Maybelline the Falsies Volum Express Non-waterproof

Hello my dear readers.
It is getting really cold and chrismasy here in Seattle lol.
How's everyone holding up in the cold weather??

So first I want to say something about how I review my mascaras.
I NEED YOUR ADVICE!
If you read all my Mascara Monday posts you would know that I recently started to give grades to the mascaras, but I feel like it is not the best way to review them because every mascara has both shortages and advantages.
It might not seem fair to give less points to a great waterproof mascara just because it is very hard to take off.
What do you guys think???
Should I just go back to listing the pros and cons???
Please let me know in the comments.

Now onto the mascara.
I know that it is somewhat cheating to review the non waterproof version of Maybelline the Falsies since I already did the waterproof one.
But I feel like these two versions are actually quite different, and I really loooove the non waterproof version as well.
In fact I love it so much that I think it deserves a separate review.

Just like the waterproof version, it has a slightly curved wand.

Ratings:
  •  Formula & Application 9/10
Formula is neither dry nor wet. Application is very pleasant in that the curved wand just hugs every lash and coat them with mascara, and it feels very smooth. Plus it is very easy to use the tip to pull out outer lashes.

One point off is because there are not enough bristles on the flat side, so it can make lashes clumpy when I push the brush into the root of my lahes, if it makes sense.

  • Lengthening: 8/10
It adds decent length to my lashes. Compared to Lancome Virtuous Mascara, it is definitely more lengthening.

  • Volumizing: 9/10
Adds quite a lot of volume in one swipe, but is prone to clump up after 2-3 coats. Better than Lancome Virtuous Macara. But Mally Volumizing Mascara has a better and fuller effect.

  • Holding Curl: 8/10
For a non waterproof mascara, it did a very good job in holding curls with the help of the curving wand and amazing formula. It did not make my lashes straight up, but it makes my lashes a lot more visible and it makes my eyes look wide open.

  •  Staying Power: 7/10
I have to admit that almost all the Maybelline mascaras smudges on me after 3-4 hours. But DUP Perfect Long Extention Mascara,  which my current favorite top coat mascara solves the problem.

  • Easiness to Remove: 10/10
Warm water+ soap and regular makeup removers does the trick.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

I know that the overall rating for this is not the highest, but the major drawback of this mascara to me is the staying power, which could be easily solved by topping a mascara that does not budge. I personaly LOVE this mascara and I think it has such a great value.

Compared to its waterproof version, it has a less dry formula, which makes my lashes feel a lot softer, and it is more lengthning. Of course it does not keep the lashes straight up, but it is still outstanding for a non-waterproof mascara.

YES for everyone!
