My Story

I'm Wendi.
My hometwon is Shanghai, a breathtakingly beautiful city in east China.
Growing in a city that's all about fashion like Shanghai, I have always felt insecure when I was a teenager.
I wear glasses. I have monolids. My hair are naturaly frizzy and curly (in a crazy way). I am not as skinny as most of my friends are. And I even have girl "mustache".
As you can probably imagine, a high school girl like that is never gonna be popular.
I was so inconfident and I hated myself for being not pretty.
I wanted to wear makeup, but we were not allowed to do that at school. Plus people were very judgy at that time, so I never really got the guts to try putting on makeup.

Thankfully, my negative feelings all disappeared after I came to US and started reading beauty blogs and watching makeup tutorials on Youtube.
I found that some of the beauty gurus have monolids as well, and they still look amazing!
I tried to recreate their looks and as time goes by, I became more and more confident about myself.

Makeup has the power of transfering you to a better you.
Of course it can erase someone's personalty completely as well.
But in my opinion, everyday makeup shouldn't be about changing you into a totally different stunning person, but to help you enhance your look, while you still look like you.

Carrying this idea,
I started this blog called Mushroom's Little World.
Mushroom is a nickname my friends used to call me.
We are all scattered around the world now (US, UK, Japan...) and we barely see each other now.
I use it as blog name because I love them and I miss them so so much.

My blog is mainly about me sharing my thoughts about different beauty products.
I am by no means a makeup expert.
But I do try my best to present you my most honest opinions.
