Dupes for MAC 217 Blending Brush???

Hello cuties!
I have another dupe post today!

I also have two commonly recognized "dupes": Sigma  E25 and Coastal Scents 250. In my opinion, they are NOT dupes for MAC 217. They are excellent on their own, and in fact, I prefer them more to MAC 217.

I got my MAC 217 in a value set, because I think getting 5 brushes for $50 is so much better than spending $20 on a single brush, and I don't mind a shorter handle at all.

For the Sigma E25, it is a gift with over $30 purchase. It's a travel size as well so it has a shorter handle.

Price:
MAC 217 Blending Brush $24

Sigma E25 Blending $12

Coastal Scents 250 Pro Blending Fluff $4.95

Shape & Quality:
Coastal Scents, Sigma, MAC

These three brushes are all tapered blending brush. MAC 217 has the longest bristles while the bristles Sigma E25 and Coastal Scents 250 has about the same length (Sigma E25 has slightly longer bristles).

Looking from the side, MAC 217 is fluffiest on top, and the other two looks equally fluffy from bottom to top. Sigma E25 looks the flattest from side and MAC 217 is the fluffiest.

In terms of brush hair, all three uses natural hair, which delivers the best result when used with powder. MAC 217 has the softest touch, Sigma E25 has medium softness and Coastal Scents feels comparatively the roughest. However, all three brushes absolutely does not feel rough on the skin. In fact, they all feel gentle and soft.

All these three brushes never sheds and keep their shapes after washing.

Function:
 MAC 217

Because MAC 217 has the longest, fluffiest and softest bristles, it is perfect for blending, and blending only. I find it wayyy too flimsy for me when applying eyeshadows. I have very small eyelids, so when I use this brush to deposit eyeshadow color, it gets really messy.

Sigma E25
The other two brushes however, works great at blending as well as applying colors on me.I use sigma when I want to define my crease more precisely since it is flatter than CS 250.

 Coastal Scents 250

I reach for Coastal Scents the most because it is the cheapest and it has a fluffy top, which is convenient when blending.

Conclusion:
In a nutshell, these three brushes are similar, but not identical.

They all serve a wonderful function as a blending brush, but MAC 217 does not work so well when applying eyeshadow on small eyelids. In fact, on smaller lids, Sigma E25 and Coastal Scents 250 works better to deposit color precisely AND bleding out color so softly and beautifully.

I would say that Coastal Scents 250 has the highest value, but Sigma E25 is also very nice. As for MAC 217, it is a great brush with very high quality, and it makes a perfect blending tool for me, but for $24 I would love to have a more multi-tasking brush.

If you have small eye area like me, I really don't see the point investing in MAC 217. BUT if you have larger eye area, you might really enjoy MAC 217.
