Mascara Monday: Buxom Lash Mascara

Sorry for the MIA. I have a ton of study to catch up with at school...

The mascara today is from Buxom.
I have it in deluxe sample size/travel size which retails for $10 at Sephora, and full size retails for $19.
It is not waterproof but there is a waterproof version of this.

On Sephora.com, it claims that: 

It has a rubber brush and the wand has an hourglass shape, meaning that bristles in the middle are shorter than the ones on both ends.

The shape of the brush is supposed to help you deliver enough product onto lashes in one swipe.

Ratings:

• Formula & Application: 9/10

It feels really smooth and creamy. Does not irritate my sensitive eyes. The wand is a little bit fat for my very small eyes...but overall it is quite easy to control.

• Lenthening: 9/10

Does a pretty good job at lenthening my lashes. Separates well and do not clump up after several coats.

• Volumizing: 9/10

Very volumizing! Lashes look instantly fuller and richer in color ( since I got it in Blackest Black). 

• Holds Curl: 8/10

Since it is not waterproof, it does not really hold curls. For the first few application, it droops my lashes down just a little bit. Nothing as bad as Mally Volumizing Mascara. After the formula dries up a little bit, it actually holds a much better curl. Just slightly droopier than Revlon Lash Potion Waterproof.

• Staying Power: 8/10

 Smudges after 4-5 hours on me. I used it on my top and bottom lashes, after half a day, I can see the black color smudging down right along my lash lower lash line. But nothing too crazy, I did not end up looking like a racoon. =P

But agian, most mascaras smudge on me, so I wasn't too surprised. In fact, I think it smudged just okay. At least better than Mally Volumizing Mascara. 

• Easiness to Remove: 10/10

Can be easliy removed with makeup remover.


Overall Rating: 9/10
Does this mascara does what it claims to do?
Yes. The formula is indeed smooth and the color is rich. But it did smudge on me, so apparently I am among the 4% of women lol.

I really like the Buxom Lash Mascara because it feels so creamy and delivers decent volume in just one coat. It feels like the Mally Volumizing Mascara but a lot more lenthening and a lot better staying power. It makes my short straight asian lashes a lot more visible.

I do like this mascara. I like it so much that I want to try the waterproof version. However, the price point is a bit high. But I do think the quality is very nice. Compared to Mally ($20), which is as expensive as Buxom, I would happily purchase Buxom over Mally.

Yes for everyone who loves to try out different mascaras.
