I'm starting my finals this week but I couldn't help to sneek up here and talk to you lol.
So I'm showing you my night time skin care routine really quickly.
I am in my early 20s and I have combination skin,
meaning my cheeks are prone to dryness while my t-zone is quite oily.
I don't have a lot of acnes, I normally only get one or two due to change in hormone( I don't think there's much I can do about it), but my face is quite sensitive, for example some chemical sunblocks and all kinds of heavy dust makes my skin red and irritated instantly, and I would get red itchy little bumps.
This routine has really calm down my face. Now I have a lot less irritation then before.
First of all, I remove my makeup using bioderma, and I have a full review of this in previous posts.
And then I wash my face with philosophy's purity, this is a very gentle cleanser with slight citricy and rosemary scent. I really really love it. It does foam up a little bit but it felt so creamy on my face. It washes away any makeup residues and it's so gentle that I use it on my eyes too. I think it is absolutely normal that my face feel dry after cleansing, but this one is definitely the less drying one of all the cleansers I tried.
I do have a clarisonic (forgot to take a picture of it =P) but I don't use it everyday because I think it could be a bit too abrasive. I usually use it 3 times a week and it really brightens up my skin.
After cleaning my face, I use Hada Labo's Gokujyun Lotion (the second bottle from left):a thick toner (almost like serum). You can purchase it on drugstore.com.

I love it because it is so moisturizing and calming. My skin just drinks up all the toner and becomes so soft afterwawrds. And it is supposed to maximize the next products you use on your skin. Plus it's made in Japan! I alwasys believe that Japanese make excellent skin care for asian skin.
I have been using Michael Todd's Concentrated C Antidioxidant Moisturizing Serum because I've got a few sun spots after my trip to Miami during spring break. Vitamin C can brighten up skintone and boost moisture. I had a sample of truth serum vitamin C collagen booster from Ole Henriksen and don't really care for it. I think instead of moisturize my face, Old Henriksen's serum actually makes my skin dryier right after I apply it. So I bought the Michael Todd one since it is cheaper and also get many good reviews. Can't say it's fantastic, but it does moisturize and brighten up my skintone. My sun spot becomes lighter too. And it smells like orange.
Caution: Serums containing vitamin C are recommended to use at night only, because if you use it in daytime, the sun may work with vitamin C and actually makes your skin even darker.
For moisturizor, I use ultra face cream from Kiehl's religiously. See how big a jar I got here? haha. I have tried many face creams and lotions, both high end and drugstore and I like this one the best. It is so light weight but yet super moisturizing. My face feel so supple after using it. And it never break me out.
For my eyes, I started to use Hyaluronic Eye Cream from Mario Badescu recently. You can find it in ulta and sometimes nordstrom. This jar cost only $18 but works so well. It is very mosturizing and a tiny little bit goes a super long way. I found this because my favorite youtuber Miss Jen from Fromheadtotoe talked about this in one of her hits and misses and she mentioned this eye cream is perfect for combating dryness. The skin around my eyes have been so dry that I can see fine lines now. I bought a of eye creams but nothing really works. After using this eye cream, my skin got a lot softer, but the fine lines are still there. But I am happy now because I don't feel dry anymore.
The little purple wand at the bottom is eyeosonic from Michael Todd, it is a vibrating little thing that helps eye cream to absorb more quickly. It claims to deliver the eye cream into the skin deeply. You just press the little metal part onto your eye area and move in circular motions. I don't know if it works or not because I just got it a little while ago and I'm too lazy to use it every day. But people have been raving about how soft their skin feel after using this.
So this is it for today,
now I'm going back to my huge pile of assignments.
See you next time!
